4. What has been used to develop www.SeeMyData?

  • SeeMyData has been developed using Perl and MySql for flexibility, functionality and high data capabilities. Conversion to other languages/databases would be considered, if required, emulating the current functionality.
5. What extra facilities are available?

The following facilities enhance the service provided to the tenant:

  • SeeMyData has been designed with extra housing management facilities in mind. It is possible to set a switch in the control panel of SeeMyData that prompts any tenants in arrears to make a payment. If they do not wish to make a payment it prompts them to apply for an arrangement.
  • Customised text and sub headings can be added at the start of most pages.
  • A link to a repairs satisfaction survey can be added to each completed repair item through the control panel, enabling tenants to report their level of satisfaction with the repair work done.
  • Inputs can be added to the Welcome page via the control panel that enable the tenant to send an email requesting that their date of birth and/or email address be updated within the inhouse housing system
  • A database search facility has been provided for housing administrators enabling them to find a tenants data by searching with a variety of data such as account number, road, town, surname, post code, etc. The administrator can then log onto the SeeMyData site as the chosen tenant to find detailed information or to complete forms on the tenants behalf. There is also a composite page providing a summary of the tenants data. This facility provides admistrators with easy access to tenant details either when on site with mobile devices or when inhouse.
  • Accessibility by disabled users is a key issue for public user web sites. It is expected that test cases will be raised in the courts. Web sites are being tested for compliance with standards that have been drawn up to provide assistance in this area. SeeMyData is being upgraded to take account of accessibility standards and is working towards compliance.
6. How long does it take to install www.SeeMyData?

  • Typically the SeeMyData screens can be prepared within two weeks for an Organisation to review and request amendments to detail. The data extraction procedures can be produced within a month and the system made operational within the next month. So usually the system can be up and running within two months.
7. How do tenants sign up initially? / What resource will I need to allocate to the set-up?

  • Tenants are signed up by a Systems Administrator control panel. It is a straightforward process - after providing the Tenant Reference No. the system allocates a PIN number to them. This takes approximately 30 seconds.
